| Your catalogs are both your biggest assets and your largest expense! People will want to borrow your catalogs, take them home, show them around - etc. You simply must remember that if you don't have your catalogs - you are out of business. Get catalogs, mark them clearly as yours with good contact information and then guard them just like you do your purse or car keys. Use the catalog CD or print copies of pages out for people to look over instead of "lending" out your printed versions. Don't forget you can always send people to "The Silver Depot" and they can browse the store. The only see the full retail prices when they browse because they don't have member accounts. They can browse and look at jewelry from any computer which has internet access. | When you take an order - use your receipt book and collect for the sale right then. It's simply to easy to take an order, place the order and then the customer "change" their mind or forget they ordered it. Let them pay you when you take the order. We emphasize quick turn-around on orders and average 7 -10 days throughout most of the year. Get the order, place your order with us as quickly as you can (we don't require a minimum amount for orders) and make sure you take the item right back to the customer. Returning to deliver an item is a great way to visit with your customer again and to sell something else. Keeping in touch with your customers will pay off for you over and over again. It's a great idea to take something different with you when you go to deliver. | Take your deliveries directly to your customers - don't delay. Call them, schedule an appointment and deliver. This is a great time to sell additional products. Make sure you take all of your materials with you when you go, be ready! If necessary, you can setup drop shipping directly to customers. This saves you from the delivery and usually will be slightly quicker, but it prevents that extra visit with the customer which can be so valuable. Make sure you call and contact your customers to make sure they know the status of the order they have placed with you. This part is really a customer service feature and will make you stand out from the crowd. We constantly hear "horror" stories about slow deliveries. Avoid them! | |||
